In the early eighties, Steve Koss, Award Winning Designer/Boat Builder and composite specialist, envisioned a new style performance boat based on advanced composite technology, but with a twist. He invented several new systems that advanced current lamination techniques.

His drive to build a 21st Century, ultralite high performance offshore hot rod became reality in 1990, 4 years after building the most advanced composite catamaran ever. His new goal; build the lightest, strongest, most advanced performance boat on the water that would not only be fast, quick and rock solid, but also offer the ultimate in SAFETY and COMFORT in any condition that mother nature whipped up.

So, in 1991, his ultralite Cheetah Cat, named GREAT ADVENTURE, won the Key West World Championships, IN ROUGH WATER, on it's maiden voyage and competing against the finest competition money could provide.
